Nothing

Nothing is the third teaser off the Modern Man concept album. I'm going to post a demo every month in 2021, and the full album will be released in december 2021.

James, disoriented, or perhaps blown away, by the experience of the girl with the marching drums, is trying to make sense of things. "Is this really the New New? Can I meet her?" James was reminded of an early childhood memory where he saw a shadow but there was nothing to cast it. Nothing. Yet, it was there, vividly present, just before him. James had never been much of a believer.

Then quickly - another dawn, another day for James. After decade upon decade, the routine converge on some sort of bland nothingness. Wake up by the nudge of the qual-ty-sleep(tm) computer, get in the shower, put one foot before the other to the hot-o-brew - the imitation of coffee that is always ready for consumption but tastes nothing like the real thing. It's like a shadow of what James' life used to be - the outline is there, but there's nothing in it but emptiness. Sometimes James is tempted to think there's some greater cause, but not today. Today his thoughts wander back to his adventures in what was then known as Myanmar. When James' partner was a human being.
